How to choose the right guest post site

A high DA number alone does not make a good guest post. Before you pick a site from the list above, check these six things — they decide whether a link actually helps your rankings.

  1. Relevance. A link from a site in your niche, or a close neighbour, is worth more than a stronger site about something unrelated. Google reads the topic of the page that links to you.
  2. Real organic traffic. Steady search traffic shows Google trusts the site. A high DA with almost no traffic often means inflated metrics.
  3. Traffic trend. Look at the last 6–12 months. A sharp drop usually follows a spam or core update.
  4. Outbound links. If every post links out to several unrelated businesses, the site is selling to everyone and each link is worth less.
  5. Indexing. Search site:domain.com in Google. If recent posts are not indexed, your post may not be either.
  6. Fair price. Compare the quote with what similar sites cost using the free backlink cost calculator.

What DA means in this list

DA (Domain Authority) is a score from 1 to 100 by Moz that estimates how strong a site’s backlink profile is. Every site in this list sits between DA 51 and 84. DA is a useful filter, but it is not a Google metric — that is why I share traffic, niche and link details with you before you pay.
