Domain Age
Checker.
Find out when any domain was registered, how old it is and when it expires — straight from the official domain registries. Check up to 10 domains at once.
How this domain age checker works
The checker asks the official registry of each domain for its registration date and expiry date, then works out the age. It uses RDAP, the protocol ICANN now uses in place of the old WHOIS system, so the dates come from the source — not from a copy that might be out of date.
If you enter a subdomain or a full URL, the checker uses the root domain, because that is what gets registered. blog.example.com/page is checked as example.com.
Does domain age matter for SEO?
Not directly. Google has said that domain age on its own does not help rankings. Older sites tend to rank better because over the years they have collected content, links and a track record — and those are what Google looks at.
Age is still a useful signal for people:
- Vetting link sellers. A two-month-old site that claims high authority and sells guest posts deserves a closer look. Check it with the bulk DA and DR checker too.
- Buying a domain. Know how long the current owner has had it, and when it expires.
- Checking a business. A shop or service that claims “20 years in business” on a domain registered last month is worth questioning.
- Expired domains. When a domain drops and is registered again, its registration date resets. A recent date on a site with an old history usually means it changed hands.
Registration date vs website history
The registration date tells you when the current registration started — not when the website first went live, and not what it was used for. To see what a domain hosted in the past, look it up on the Wayback Machine. If an old domain was used for spam, it may carry bad links: the guide to disavowing backlinks explains when and how to clean that up.
Why the expiry date matters
If a domain expires and is not renewed, the site goes offline and the domain can be bought by someone else — along with its links. If you own the domain, turn on auto-renew. If you are buying links from a site that expires in a few days, wait until it renews.

Domain age FAQ.
Is this domain age checker free?
Yes. You can check up to 10 domains at once for free, with no sign-up.
Where does the domain age come from?
From the official domain registries, through RDAP — the protocol ICANN now uses as the replacement for WHOIS.
Does domain age help SEO?
Not on its own. Google has said domain age is not something it uses to rank pages. Older domains often rank well because they have more content, links and history, not because of the date.
Why is the age of a famous site shorter than I expected?
If a domain expired and was registered again, the registry shows the new registration date. Transfers between registrars keep the original date.
Why does it say N/A for some domains?
Some country-code domains do not publish a registration date in their registry. For those, check the registry of that country directly.
