What Google actually requires for AdSense

According to Google’s AdSense eligibility requirements, you need to be at least 18, have access to the HTML source of your site, publish high-quality, original content that attracts an audience, and follow the AdSense program policies. Google does not publish a minimum number of articles or a traffic threshold.

Google’s publisher policies also require a clear privacy policy that tells visitors how cookies and data are used — including by third-party ad vendors. Everything else reviewers look at comes down to one question: is this a real, useful, finished website?

Common reasons AdSense rejects a site

  • Low value content — thin, copied, AI-spun or unfinished pages. The most frequently reported reason.
  • Site down or unavailable — the reviewer couldn’t load the site, or it blocks crawlers.
  • Navigation problems — broken menus, empty categories or pages that are hard to reach.
  • Policy violations — copyrighted material, adult or dangerous content, or misleading pages.
  • Missing policy pages — no privacy policy or no way to contact the owner.

How to get approved faster

  1. Publish genuinely helpful, original articles in one clear topic area.
  2. Add About, Contact and Privacy Policy pages and link them in the menu or footer.
  3. Remove empty categories, placeholder text and “coming soon” pages.
  4. Make sure every page is indexable and the site works on mobile.
  5. Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console so your content is crawled before you apply.
  6. Run this checker on your homepage and a typical article, fix what is red, then apply.

AdSense approval FAQ.

Is this an official Google AdSense checker?

No. It is an independent readiness check based on Google’s published eligibility requirements and publisher policies. Only Google’s own review decides approval.

How many articles do I need for AdSense approval?

Google does not publish a minimum number of pages or a traffic requirement. It asks for high-quality, original content that attracts an audience. Focus on a solid set of genuinely helpful pages rather than a number.

Do I need a privacy policy for AdSense?

Yes. Google’s publisher policies require a privacy policy that explains how cookies and data are used, including by third-party ad vendors.

Do I need traffic before applying to AdSense?

Google does not set a traffic minimum. But a site with real, useful content usually also attracts some visitors, and reviewers check that the site is a genuine, working website.

What is the most common reason for rejection?

Publishers most often report “low value content” — thin, copied or unfinished pages. Fix content quality first, then policy pages and navigation.

Can I check any website?

Yes. Enter any public URL. For the best picture, check your homepage and one of your typical articles.
